NDAA Launches Elder Justice Prosecutor Resource & Engagement Center
Washington, D.C. — October 14, 2026 — The National District Attorneys Association (NDAA), with support from the U.S. Department of Justice Elder Justice Initiative, today launched the Elder Justice Prosecutor Resource & Engagement Center during the opening of the National Elder Justice Prosecutors Summit in Washington, D.C. The Summit brings together prosecutors and elder justice professionals from across the country to strengthen the investigation and prosecution of elder abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and fraud.
The Center is a new national home for resources, training, technical assistance, and engagement among prosecutors handling these complex cases. It is live now at ndaa.org/elderjusticeprosecutors and is launching in phases, to be developed with input from prosecutors working in communities across the country.
“This Summit brings prosecutors together in one place with one purpose: strengthening our ability to pursue justice for older adults. The Center will carry that work forward by connecting prosecutors with practical tools, training, expertise, and one another — and prosecutors themselves will help us build it around what they need,” said Jennifer Webb-McRae, Cumberland County (NJ) Prosecutor and President of the National District Attorneys Association.
At launch, the Center provides access to state elder abuse statutes through EAGLE, and prosecutors can sign up for the Elder Justice Prosecutors’ Forum — the Center’s national community for exchanging knowledge, sharing effective practices, and supporting one another in handling these cases. These are a starting point: additional resources, including prosecution training videos and state-specific guides, are in development and will be added over time as the Center grows with prosecutor input.
As the Center grows, prosecutors will help build a current, practical document library by contributing templates, pleadings, orders, case examples, statutory updates, and other tools that may assist colleagues in other jurisdictions. Their input will also guide future training and technical assistance and help create stronger opportunities for collaboration with law enforcement, adult protective services, financial institutions, medical professionals, victim services, and other partners.
“Prosecutors are essential to protecting older adults and holding offenders accountable. By building the Center around the experience of prosecutors working in communities across the country, we can strengthen access to practical knowledge, encourage collaboration, and support more effective responses to elder abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, and fraud,” said Andy Mao, National Elder Justice Coordinator, U.S. Department of Justice.
The Elder Justice Prosecutor Resource & Engagement Center is supported through funding from the U.S. Department of Justice Elder Justice Initiative.
The Summit launch marks the beginning of the Center’s development and a continuing national effort to strengthen elder justice prosecution. Prosecutors and allied criminal justice professionals are invited to visit the Center, explore what is available, and help shape what comes next at ndaa.org/elderjusticeprosecutors.
