State VOCA Awards

Assistance

VOCA victim assistance funding supports direct services for victims of crime, including victims and survivors of mass violence incidents. These funds are administered by state VOCA victim assistance programs and may support services such as crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, emergency assistance, information and referrals, and other eligible victim support services. Because VOCA victim assistance funds are awarded and managed at the state level, impacted communities should coordinate with their state VOCA administering agency to understand what resources may be available after a mass violence incident.

Compensation

Crime victim compensation is available to reimburse victims for certain out-of-pocket expenses related to their victimization. In cases of terrorism or mass violence occurring within the United States, compensation provides supplemental financial support for eligible costs and can be accessed at any time.
